Good for beginners, but light on deep substance  |

I am only a week into this hobby, and I bought this book as my first. It has a nice species guide (though not enough fish...the two very common spiecies I have in my tank werent included!). It has good tips on starting up a tank, explains the various filtration and heating methods, etc. I would have liked more editorial content, rather than general info. Still, a great resource for the beginner and adequate reference for the initiated.

This book is excellent value. It has plenty of information on setting up a new tank, fish health, photography, filters and other gizmos, etc.

Probably not in-depth enough to satisfy the experienced fishkeeper but otherwise this book cannot be faulted. I refer to this regularly as my fish bible, using its information I have set up a fantastic healthy tropical tank.
Highly recomended!
